– can I submit it now for VJOY 2017?

Only submissions published or broadcast during the specified period, 1 June 2016 to 31 July 2017, are eligible for entry in the VJOY 2017 Awards. Any work published or broadcast after 31 July 2017 would be eligible for entry in the VJOY 2018 Awards.

Can I submit a hard copy of my entire entry form?

Any submission for the VJOY 2017 Awards must be registered by the journalist or submitting editor on the Vodacom Journalist of the Year 2017 website journalist.vodacom.co.za so that it is included in the central database for judging. You will be able to do this from 1 – 31 August 2017. You will be prompted to upload your submission(s) online. Information is provided on logistics for dropping off the hard copy entries at one of the five Vodacom regional offices; or using the free collection courier service offered by Internet Express which can be accessed through the Vodacom Journalist Awards website.

I am worried the quality of my piece will not be appreciated correctly if submitted online?

We understand that you would like your piece to be judged in its original format. However, all of the judges have been selected for their expertise in their various fields and can envisage the original presentation. Should you still wish to submit a hard copy of your entry, please remember to register your entry online first and then follow the submission criteria for hard copy entries.

I made an error on my registration or submission form and need to edit it?

Once you have submitted your piece, you will be able to access it to edit your submission details until it has gone through a quality-control process. Once this process has occurred you will be locked out from editing it further. If you are locked out and need to edit your submission details, please contact us and remember to include your reference number. We will unlock your submission so that you can edit and re-confirm it.
